WHAT IS THE CODE? The Code is an environmental assessment developed by Building Research Establishment (BRE) using a 1 to 6 rating system to communicate the overall sustainability of new homes.The code rates the home as a complete package, from the design stage to completion awarding credits in the following categories: - Energy and CO2 emissions

- Surface water run off
- Waste
- Pollution
- Health and well being
- Management
- Ecology
The Code will provide valuable information to home buyers, and offers builders a tool with which to differentiate themselves in sustainability terms.
